Chichester Marina to St Katharines Docks (London)

04th March - Chichester Marina to Brighton

It was 21:00 when we reached Troskala at Chichester Marina, that being myself, Ben Bleasdale (a close friend) and Carlotta. My Dad would arrive at 0:00 to help us skipper Troskala to Brighton, the first leg of our Chichester to London adventure.

It was 7 months by the side of the Thames when Carlotta suggested that it would be a good idea to move Troskala to St Katharine Docks to live on her for a year to see how we get a along before setting off on our circumnavigation, I jumped at the idea then and seems so much has happened since that decision.  Our last blog was written before our old Volvo MD11C engine died just before setting of the Cherbourg.  Troskala was lifted out on the 21st September, ready to be fully kitted out for our trip; this included a new Beta 30 engine, hot water system, battery management system, new water tanks for ocean crossing and a new central heating system.  We were ready, Troskala was launched in January giving us a few weekends to test sail before heading to our new temporary home in London.

So here we were, at the visiting pontoon at Chichester Marina.  Troskala had kindly been moved to the re-fuelling pontoon by the staff at the marina so that we could make a quick getaway at 01:00.
